In the Department of Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education (EMS), students are exposed to the results of educational experiments. For students to better understand how these results were obtained, they must have a direct experience with educational research.

For students taking these courses, this research activity is mandatory.

Credits are earned by participating in experiments, writing summaries of approved articles, or a combination of both. Unfortunately if you are under 18 years of age, you may not participate in experiments. You will complete the article summaries instead. Either way, you must register on the [SONA Systems website] to receive credit for your course.

Failure to complete the required three credits will result in a loss of points used to assign your grade — no exceptions. If you wish to dispute your final credit tally, you have until midnight (pacific) on Friday of the last week of classes (not final exam week).
